A little bit about me
Hi I'm Liz,
I'm incredibly fortunate to share life with my wonderful husband, our two children, and three beautiful grandchildren. Our son now lives in Australia, making every visit extra special, while our daughter lives in the next village, meaning family is never far away.
Before becoming a self taught artist, I spent over 20 years working at the front desk of a high-end architectural and interior design practice. It was far more than an office role - it immersed me every day in beautiful architecture, thoughtful interiors, carefully chosen materials, and timeless design. Without realising it at the time, those years quietly shaped the way I see light, space, balance and the relationship between artwork and the homes in which it lives.
Today, that influence is at the heart of everything I create. My paintings are designed not simply to hang on a wall, but to become part of an interior - bringing warmth, calm, texture and quiet elegance to a space.
When I'm not painting, you'll find me in the garden, another place where I find endless inspiration in nature's colours, textures and changing light. My husband built me a beautiful garden studio, a peaceful space where I can spend hours creating. Surrounded by flowers, birdsong and the changing seasons, it's where each painting begins its journey.
My work is a reflection of everything I love: beautiful interiors, the calming influence of nature, and the simple joy of creating pieces that makes a house feel more like home. It brings me enormous happiness knowing that my paintings become part of other people's lives, adding warmth and character to the spaces where memories are made.
ABOUT MY ART
One of the things I love most about creating my paintings is watching them develop their own landscape and story. Through use of water, sprays and an ever-growing collection of unusual tools (much to the detriment of my kitchen drawers!), each piece evolves in its own unique way. I enjoy experimenting with anything that creates interesting textures and subtle marks.
What I love even more is hearing what other people see in my work. Every painting seems to evoke different emotions, memories, or places for each person, and I find those different perspectives fascinating. It's a reminder that once a painting leaves my studio, it begins its own journey, inviting everyone to connect with it in their own personal way.
